The Day I Got Shot

Personal stories like this one are extremely difficult to tell, but the telling is very important. It’s taken a long time for Radio Lajee’s Mohammad Qassim to finish this post and it’s been well worth the wait.

  1. Mohammad,
thank you so much for sharing this story with us.
I’m so sorry this happened to you, and I know this happens to too many of our Palestinian brothers and sisters every day.
A lot of people here in Germany are in solidarity with Palestine. We have been trying to make the suffering known, and put pressure on Israel to stop the insanity, so that hopefully before too long we won’t say “because they can” anymore!
    Free Palestine!

  2. Mohammad, you have produced something very powerful with this story. The rich layers of audio coupled with your naturally paced recollection of that terrible event, make it very easy for those of us fortunate enough not to be living under occupation, to get a clear insight into its senselessness and ongoing brutality. Thank you for persevering with this piece of work, I hope loads of people from all over get the opportunity to listen to it.
In friendship and solidarity always, Daz x

  3. Mohammad!
You made a really strong and impressive story, you can be really proud of!!!
I thank you both, you and Daz, for producing this horrible but so impressive story. It affects me in so many ways.
I am 100% sure a lot of people will listen to it.

I join Daz: In friendship and solidarity!

  4. Mohammad,

Thank you so much for sharing this story. It is so simple and so powerful. (Daz thank you for all of your work too) You speak with such calmness, care and peace. What a terrible contrast with the brutality and hatred of the Israeli occupiers. Solidarity and hope that this occupation will end.

  5. Mohammad, thank you for sharing your story, it was very moving. It is very hard here in Australia to imagine what life is like there and this helps me to understand. It makes me very sad to think that such senseless attacks can occur, but I think your courage in telling it will be part of the process that leads to change. I hope that change comes soon.

I send you my best wishes for your future safety and that of your people,
    Alex

  6. Mohammad,
Thank you for sharing your story and for helping to educate the world about these atrocities. We have to keep talking and sharing and shouting out to the world!
    Peace be with you!
    Pamela
